There are many types of chocolate available in the world, but it is very rare that the entire process of making it, from the cocoa bean to the chocolate, is carried out by the same craftsman. You are holding such a rare chocolate in your hands. The carefully selected cocoa beans come from a small plantation in Peru and are then processed in the Mauna Ház chocolate workshop: from roasting, through the stages of cleaning, grinding, tempering, flavoring and molding to packaging, as a result of a lot of planning and experimentation.

The resulting bean-to-bar chocolate is a special, unique product made with attention, love and creativity, for all conscious customers who value high quality.

Ingredients: cocoa beans, cocoa butter, sugar

Cocoa content:  80%

Why is bean-to-bar chocolate special?

The specialty of bean-to-bar chocolate lies in the fact that it is made entirely from natural ingredients, without any artificial additives.

  • Quality and flavor – Thanks to full control over the entire process, the chocolate has a purer, more intense taste.

  • Sustainability and ethical sourcing – The cocoa beans come from small local farmers, grown in an environmentally friendly way.

  • Craftsmanship and care – Each bar is unique and made with love, not the result of mass production.

The recipe of the chocolates made at Mauna House is extremely simple and pure:

  • Cocoa beans – Provide the intense natural flavor of cocoa.

  • Cocoa butter – Ensures a creamy texture.

  • Sugar – Just enough sweetness, nothing more.

That’s all. ❌ No ingredients like:

  • Artificial flavor

  • Preservatives

  • Palm oil

  • Soy lecithin

  • Milk powder

Why does this matter?

This purity and simplicity guarantee that every bite delivers a genuine, natural taste experience while preserving the original nutrients and antioxidants of the cocoa.

Criollo cocoa beans
– the main ingredient of Mauna House's bean-to-bar chocolate

The Criollo Peruvian cocoa bean is one of the most special and valuable cocoa varieties in the world. Due to its unique flavor profile and rarity, it is a premium ingredient for luxury chocolates. Criollo represents only about 1-5% of the world’s cocoa production because it is more susceptible to diseases and has lower yield.

It is grown mainly in South America, especially in Peru, where indigenous cultures (such as the Incas) have been using it for centuries.

The Criollo cocoa bean has an exceptionally fine, smooth, and complex flavor profile. It is often described with fruity, nutty, vanilla, and caramel notes, without a bitter aftertaste. To avoid flavor loss caused by industrial processing, this cocoa bean is usually processed using artisanal techniques.

Did you know how healthy cocoa beans are?

Cocoa beans are not only delicious but also extremely healthy. Criollo beans have numerous beneficial effects that are preserved in the chocolate through gentle artisanal processing. They are rich in antioxidants, which help neutralize free radicals and support the immune system.
The flavonoids they contain improve blood circulation and may reduce the risk of heart disease.
Cocoa beans are an excellent source of magnesium, which aids muscle function and soothes the nerves.

Our other products:

“I love Mauna House Bean to Bar chocolate because I can truly taste that it is made from real cocoa beans, and it is important to me that what I consume consists of natural ingredients. It’s neither too bitter nor too sweet.
Its texture is silky, smooth, and creamy.
I usually give this as a gift to my grandchildren and others as well.
